Copenhagen, Denmark - The Little Mermaid

What virtual tour of Copenhagen would be complete without a shot of the Little Mermaid sculpture. Here she is - I somehow managed to get a shot of her with only ONE tourist's hand in the picture - this statue had swarms of tourists around and on it.

A good night shot of one of the many different restaurants found in the Copenhagen amusement park, Tivoli. This is a part of the well known and long-lived amusement park Tivoli in Copenhagen. I believe that in years pasts (100, 200 years?) that the park was mainly gardens and had few amusements. The park still has beautiful gardens and also has rides, games, concerts, and restaurants, restaurants, restaurants. We were there on the weekend and got to watch a very popular Danish rock band called Kashmir that were very good.
Copenhagen, Denmark - Nyhavn

This is a really interesting part of Copenhagen called Nyhavn. For the Calgarians reading this, think of it like Kensington on a canal. Beer drinking on patios seemed to be the main activity going on here this day. A strange site here was the street people that were carrying all of their "stuff" in baby trams (carriages); I guess this is because large shopping carts aren't really used here.
Copenhagen, Denmark - Amalienborg and the Royal Guard

The winter residence of the Danish Royal Family is Amalienborg. Amalienborg is made up of four almost identical rococo palais, which were originally built by four noblemen in the years 1750-54, on land granted them by King Frederik the Fifth. The Royal Family lived on Christiansborg until 1794, when it burned down, and the Royal Family decided to buy the four palais, name them Amalienborg, move in and live there from then on.
