Zaragoza is the culminant point in the valley of Ebro, Spain's most water-bearing river, in an
impressive landscape with picturesque villages and very old traditions and popular customs.
Zaragoza is one of the great monumental towns in Spain. It was founded some 2000 years ago, and
Old-Iberians, Romans, Goths and Arabians equally left their heritage. Zaragoza as well includes
important buildings of Spanish baroque.
Today the town is economically very active, and organizes
several important international fairs.
Zarogaza, Spain - Basilica de Nuestra Senora del Pilar

This church is one of the most visited places of pilgrimage in all Spain, consecrated to the
"Holy Virgin of Pilar", patroness not only of this town but of all Spanish-speaking countries.
So the annual celebrations to the "Day of Pilar", at October 12th, are of great
importance.
The baroque building of 1681 is flanked by four towers. Some parts, as the neoclassical
main-facade, were added in later periods. In its interior the wall-paintings in the cupola, works of
Goya and Bayeau, are of particular interest. In the churche's museum you can see
a large collection mainly of religious arts.
Zarogaza, Spain - Tarazona

The next station is Tarazona, with very old history as well: it was populated already by Celts. Tarazona's bullring, Plaza de Toros, of 18th century, is a real curiosity: it is located in the middle of an ocatagonal complex of dwelling houses. Other remarkable buildings are the Town-Hall, with a frieze that shows King Carlos III marching into the town, the Cathedral of 13th century, the church Iglesia de la Magdalena and the Archiepiscopal Palais.
Zaragoza, Spain - Sos del Pey Catolico

24 kilometer from Uncastillo is located Sos del Rey Catolico, another town which seems to be a medieval museum. It is surrounded by impressive town-walls with seven doors, and has a fortress that is well worth seeing. When you walk through its picturesque narrow lanes you may think that time really has stood still here for 700 years. Finally you arrive to Yesa, in a great landscape with an impressive storage lake, known as "Lago de los Pirineos".
Zaragoza, Spain - Audiencia Territorial

La Audiencia, in the street Conde de Aranda, was built in 1551and served as residence to the Counts of Morata. It is considered one of the most beautiful palaces in Aragón.
Zaragoza, Spain - Cartuja Aulai Territorial

The monastery of enclosure Cartuja del Aula Dei, in Barrio de la Montana, may be visited only by men. They can enjoy of some great frescos of Goya.
