In this area there are 150 ski lifts, more than 300 prepared slopes, some 1,000 km of prepared ski-tracks and more than 1,000 km of marked cross-country skiing trails. In summer, the area has plenty to offer everyone - the adventurous, the not so adventurous, the sporting, the laid back, the young and the old.

Härjedalen is perfect for those looking for that little extra adventure. Why not take a snowmobile safari deep into the wilderness, or go ice fishing for the biggest charr in the lake? Have you ever ridden a dogsled?

The mountains in the province are ideal for summer hiking, rock-climbing and mountain biking. They also provide excellent canoeing and white-water rafting. You can also enrich your cultural life with by seeing Sami traditions and handicrafts.  Visiting the area's rock carvings will take you way back to Stone Age times.
